11.08.2014 Marc Jacobs London Pop Up – takes tweets instead of cash!
Fancy winning a Marc Jacobs handbag? Plus getting you hands on Marc Jacobs fragrance samples? All for free!
Visit the Marc Jacobs Covent Garden pop up shop – all you have to is tweet / instagram using the hashtag #MJDaisyChain which you can then exchange for samples!
You will then be entered in to prize draws for Marc Jacobs handbags – the better the tweet the higher the value of the prize handbag!
Visitors will also be able to take advantage of a Marc Jacobs lounge with free wi-fi, drinks, a nail bar, photo booth and DJ set by Hana Hanra!

02.07.2014 Have you spotted any book inspired benches today?
Books About Town launched today and to celebrate 50 specially commissioned benches have been placed around London inspired by famous books including Sherlock Holmes, Paddington Bear, Peter Pan and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

03.06.2014 TFL announces plans to scrap cash payments on London Buses from July 6th.
Today TFL announced to registered Oyster card holders that plans have now been finalised to remove cash payments for London bus journeys.
Instead from July 6th you will have to pay by either Oyster card or contactless payment.
TFL have allowed you one extra use of a credit less Oyster card or an expired travel card to help when you have no other option for payment however you will only be allowed to use this once before having to top up.

02.06.2014 Lord of the Dance to open at London Palladium!
Michale Flatley’s world famous Lord of the Dance is to open this September at the London Palladium.
With a modern new title ‘Lord of the Dance – Dangerous Games’ and featuring Nadine Coyle from Girls Aloud, this show is bound to by a fantastic sell out!
A preview of the show will be performed on June 22nd at Trafalgar Square!

21.05.2014 London Tube Strike over Bank Holiday Weekend!
Unite are threatening a total shut down of the tube system over the upcoming bank holiday weekend apparently.
According to the Standard – Unite trade union said 40 technicians in the London Underground power control room are planning to walk out from one minute past midnight on Saturday until Tuesday morning.

A big day for London as it is named the ‘Selfie Capital of the World!’
An achievement only made possible due to the rise of the #selfie and the amount of amazing places to visit and be papped in London!
If you don’t know what a selfie is – (where have you been living?!) a selfie is a photo of someone taken by themselves, normally with something behind them!

15.05.2014 Prince Harry encourages support for Invictus Games!
Prince Harry has sent his first ever Tweet today to encourage people to support the Invictus Games which are being held in London in September.
The Invictus Games are being held at the famous Olympic park and other venues across London, similar to the London Olympic games however they are for wounded military heros.
The games are an inspiration to us all, showing what you can achieve even after such massive personal sacrifices from the men and women in our military.
Backed by The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry and the Ministry of Defence, The Invictus Games will kick off with an Opening Cermeony on September 10th and will finish with a Closing Ceremony celebrating 4 days of grueling competition.

22.04.2014 2015 London Marathon ballot closes in record time!
The ballot of the 2015 London Marathon has closed within record time this morning with thousands of hopeful runners trying to secure a place in next years challenging 26 mile run.
Fear not however if you missed the ballot because there will still be charities looking for runners to help them raise money and awareness!
11.04.2014 London Marathon 2014 this weekend!
So it’s that time of the year again when over 30000 people put on their running shoes and take on the grueling challenge of running the London Marathon.
And non competitors fill up London’s streets to wave and cheer on the runners as they under take a challenging 26.2miles.
The marathon will start on Sunday as always at Blackheath common then runners will take in numerous famous places all across London from Greenwich and the Cutty Sark, then to Bermondsey,then crossing Tower Bridge, heading back on themselves to Canary Wharf and the Isle of Dogs, then back along the Thames passing London Bridge, St Pauls, Westminister and St James’s Park before finishing on the famous Horse Guards Parade.
The London Marathon has raised millions of pounds for thousands and thousands of charities and the hard work and endurance from the runner, supporters and volunteers is amazing and makes us proud!
If you are competing in the marathon then we wish you the best of luck – remember to stay hydrated and try and enjoy it!
The BBC has published a fantastic list of tips for runners which you can find here, with advice from some pretty inspiring athletes including Paula Radcliffe, James Cracknell, Tanni Grey-Thompson and the oldest runner of this years marathon Paul Freedman.
We are looking forward to seeing some fantastic costumes this year (as like all previous years) and will be snapping away lots of photos at the start line and throughout the race!

03.04.2014 London launches it’s own TV channel!
So this week saw the launch of London Live – London’s first 24 hour dedicated TV channel!
Launching on Monday night – London Live pulled in over 22,000 viewers tuning in to watch ‘Not The One Show’.
London Live, backed by Evgeny Lebedev who owns the Independent and Evening Standard, will air 24 hours a day, seven days a week, aiming to provide a rival to the coverage of the capital offered by the BBC, ITV and Sky.
London Live can be watched online or on Sky channel 117, Freeview 8 or Virgin Media channel 159.
20.03.14 No make up selfies raise £1m for Cancer Research UK in 24hrs!
So the latest craze to hit the internet was a charitable one!
The no make up selfie craze hit Facebook and Twitter this week with girls bearing their make up free faces and texting BEAT to 70099 to donate £3 to cancer research.
The craze has gone viral and Cancer Research UK have now said they have received over 800,000 texts in the last 24 hours raising them over £1 million!

Boys have also been getting in on the action with their make up selfies too and the results are hillarious!
Although the no make up selfie is a bit of harmless fun there is of course a serious side to raising awareness of the devestating illness and many people have taken this opportunity to share their own touching stories about how cancer has affected them and their loved ones.

E4 producers have announced that our favourite Chelsea SW4 gang are heading across the pond to take over Chelsea NYC!
Tweeting last night they revealed that a 6 part mini series will be shot with the gang exploring the Big Apple.

18.03.14 Rocky Musical to hit London’s West End!
Sylvester Stallone has annouced that the long anticipated Rocky musical could actually arrive in London’s West End!
The £10 million show has just opened on Broadway, NYC and Stallone says once the reviews are in, London will be the next place the Rocky show will go!
Stallone has spent over 10 years bringing his Oscar winning story to the stage and we certainly can’t wait to watch it when it comes to London!
13.03.14 London Zoo welcomes 3 new arrivals as Sumatran tiger gives birth to triplets!
London Zoo is celebrating the glorious arrival of three rare baby tiger triplets as Mum tiger, 5 year old Melati gave birth to her three new babies on Monday.
Melati and her cubs remain inside away from the public eye at the moment and the sex of the cubs is yet to be disclosed!
Zookeeper Teague Stubbington said: “We couldn’t be more delighted with our new arrivals, and with how Melati is responding to her three cubs … we’ve even been able to observe key milestones like their eyes opening and their tentative first steps.
“While we still don’t know whether they’re boys or girls, we’re starting to see their personalities develop. We’ve nicknamed one Trouble, as it’s much bolder than the others – it was the first to start exploring its den and we’ve spotted it waking up its siblings when they fall asleep.”
The number of Sumatran tiger numbers in the wild is estimated to be as low as 300 so the birth of these gorgeous cubs represents a huge achievement!

The news that Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole had re
conciled and finally organised her return to the X Factor brought Mayfair to a standstill as people hoped to get a shot of the famous X Factor pair at their news conference.
People also probably hoped to catch a glimpse of the X Factor moguls new addition – Eric!
09.03.14 Benefit’s Brow Arch March around Central London in aid of charity!
Today we took part in Benefit’s charity walk
‘Brow Arch March’ walking 5k around central London to raise money and awareness for Look Good Feel Better, a charity aimed at ‘providing practical & effective free services for women suffering from the visible side effects of cancer treatment.’
Starting and finishing at Berkeley Square the march went past famous arches such as Marble Arch, taking in the sites of London – everyone united in their pink Benefit ‘Brow Arch March’ t-shirts!

27.02.14 Channel 4’s Comedy Gala tickets on sale tomorrow!
Tickets for Channel 4’s Comedy Gala in aid of Great Ormond Street Hostpital go on sale tomorrow. O2 customers however can get access in the pre sale today!
Hosted at The O2, London – Channel 4’s Comedy Gala is a night aimed at raising money and awareness for Great Ormond Street hospital.
Some fantastic names have been released as confirmed for the line up including: Jonathan Ross, Lee Evans, Michael McIntyre, Jason Manford, Alan Carr and lots more!

17.02.14 Game of Thrones ‘The Wall’ pops up in Bishops Square!
To celebrate the release of the third season of Game of Thrones on Blueray and DVD, ‘The Wall’ has popped up in Bishops Square, Liverpool street, offering fans the chance to Scale The Wall!
If you fancy the challenge ‘The Wall’ will be there until 3.30 pm today!
14.02.14 London Fashion Week commences
London Fashion Week 2014 commences today, Valentines Day.
Fashionably located at the gorgeous Somerset House near Covent Garden, London Fashion Week kicks off with shows from designers including Felder Felder and Amanda Wakeley.
Saturdays shows feature designers including high street favourites, Julien Macdonald, Hunter, Joseph, Jasper Conran, John Roca and Orla Kiely.
Sundays shows feature high end designers including Mulberry, Nicole Farhi, Temperley London, Vivienne Westwood and Matthew Williamson, to name just a few.
Mondays highlights include shows from Burberry, Christopher Kane, Giles and Tom Ford.
On Tuesday the final shows feature designers showing on Topshops Show Space including Marques ‘ Almeida and Meadham Kirchoff.

11.02.14 Tube Strike suspended
The looming London tube strike has been suspended after One Union reached a deal with London Underground today over the recent talk about ticket office closures.

09.02.14 Flood alert for Londoners
Thousands of Londoners are today on flood alert after the horrendous weather that has been battering the South West coast moved East. Riverside home owners received emergency calls and texts telling them to prepare for an evacuation.

08.02.14 Iconic Banksy mural ‘Girl and Balloon’ to be removed
The iconical Banksy mural ‘Girl and Balloon’ is to be removed from a wall in East London and sold. The mural will go on exhibition before the sale however.

07.02.14 Shangri-La hotel, in the Shard confirms opening date
The highly anticipated Shangri-La hotel has set it’s opening date for it’s London hotel for May 6th when it will welcome its first guests who can say they have stayed in Western Europes tallest hotel.
Once open, us locals will also be able to enjoy Londons highest bar ‘Gong’ which will be situated on level 52 of the Shard. However we will have to wait a little longer as it wont be open until July 1st apparently!
05.02.14 One Direction to open cafe in London?
Good news for 1D fans as apparently One Direction are thinking of opening cafes situated across the globe. The first one is tipped to be in Japan with London becoming home to the second one, with the source adding “This could become the lads’ version of Planet Hollywood”

05.02.14 London Tube Strike update
So the first offical day of the tube strike has begun and commuters faced severe disruption this morning getting to work during the morning rush hour.
The metro has posted some of the most crazy tweets posted by people affected by the disruption!
As the stike is due to continue until Friday morning and unfortunately coincides with rail delays due to the adverse weather, Londoners are having to find other ways to go about their daily business.
04.02.14 London Tube Strike
Londoners tonight are preparing for the London Tube Strike – a lot of services are expected to be disrupted.
TFL have published a list of active services during the strike which commences at 9.30pm tonight and ends with normal service resuming on Friday.
